InfoceanDesk, a Competitiveness Clusters Project

The InfoceanDesk project is part of the French national Competitiveness Clusters. These public funds are intended to support applied research projects aiming at the development of products or services which may be marketed on the short or medium term.

InfoceanDesk was selected in 2008, after the 6th call for tender.The public funding will last for two years, from January 2009 to December 2010.

InfoceanDesk is one of the downstream components of the European Union's GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security programme).

Its objective is the development of commercial oceanographic downstream services for the offshore industry. Products are based on metocean information supply, in order to support the decision making process. InfoceanDesk focuses on two kinds of applications: the offshore oil and gas industry and environmental information used for fisheries management (both natural and artificial aquaculture).
